Description
Super- HT is a Monoaxially Oriented Polypropylene formulated film, engineered
along with special additive blends, for specific use in power cable industries
replacing PVC, LDPE/HDPE and PET tapes. Super - HT tapes prove to be a better alternative
owing to superior tensile strength and other material characterstics.
Usage
Advantages
It has high tensile strength and low elongation in machine direction. This allows
faster speeds during cable making and reduced machine down time by less snapping of film
due to superior tear resistance in cross direction.
Better electrical properties like lowest power factor resulting in low power loss
, high breakdown voltage and high volume resistivity. It's dissipation factor does not vary
even at high temperature.
High tensile strength and low elongation holds the inner core tightly, guarding against any vibration
which otherwise is detrimental to functioning of the cable. This also maintains uniform
diameter of the cable.
Very low water and moisture permeability as compared to polyester, due to its non-hygroscopic nature.
Its low density gives outright extra yield on PVC/ Polyester for same film thickness. This results in significant
cost savings in addition to better properties.
Low thermal conductivity protects inner cables from deformation and from sticking together.
