Description
Super - JFTC is a Monoaxially Oriented Polypropylene formulated film,engineered along with special additive blend
for specific use in communication cable industry, replacing expensive polyster and other plastic films like LDPE and HDPE.
It distinguishes itself by strength coupled with economy and engineered properties
to support specific application. It may be used in helical wrapping or in longitudinal wrap with equal ease and efficiency.
Usage
Core wrapping
The main aim of core wrapping tape is to safeguard the core by containing the jelly, preventing water penetration
and to act as an electric and thermal insulator. This requires adequate properties of the film along with proper
overlap to avoid gaps. Super-JFTC is engineered right down from concept to give a perfect product.
Bedding
The main aim of bedding tape is to provide a mechanically protective layer between cable cores and armouring tapes.
This requires high abrasion resistance, high tensile strength, low elongation and good puncture resistance. Super-JFTC
is inherently, an ideal material for this application.
Advantages
No gaps in the wrapping due to more pliability and conformability resulting in a permanent clinging action to jelly and preventing water
penetration.
Very low water and moisture permeability as compared to polyester, due to its non-hygroscopic nature.
Water penetration tests conducted in our R&D lab as well as by our esteemed customers have shown results confirming these properties and
their benefits in guarding the cable against water penetration.
Its low density gives outright saving of 40% on cost as compared to polyester, for same film thickness. Using a 25-40 microns film in place
of 100 micron LDPE/HDPE film in bedding application is again a super cost saver.
It has high tensile strength and low elongation in machine direction which allows faster speed during cable making and reduced machine
downtime by less snapping in film due to superior tear resistance in cross direction.
Low thermal conductivity protects inner cables from deformation and from sticking together.
